Lullabies for the Shadows is a work for Recorder quartet, in four parts - Lullaby for the Shadow Behind the Moon, Lullaby for the Shadow Under the Bed, Lullaby for the Shadow of the Sad Dragon, and Lullaby for the Shadow After the Light. Each part can be played separately, or all four as movements of a larger work. While not very difficult, the interplay between the four recorders allows each to take the lead at times, and blend at others. Smooth and sweet, slow and sad, and above all a work that will engage both the players and the audience.
