Description
Humans think they have conquered the oceans, but instead, they just drift across the surface, unaware of what lies below. The ocean floor is home to many graves of vessels known and unknown to modern life.
A Watery Grave is an original work for orchestra in three movements. The second movement features a slowly building horn quartet. While mostly in compound time, the third movement uses polyrhythms to generate a slight discomfort. Throughout the work the brass feature heavily, with minimal but essential percussion.
